Product Spotlight: The Excellence of Normandy Carrots by Gosselin Group

A true emblem of our region and a flagship product of our packing facilities, the carrot embodies all the agricultural expertise and dedication of our teams. Grown in the exceptional terroirs of Normandy — from the Val de Saire to the sands of Créances and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel —, it benefits from ideal soil and climate conditions that give it its unique flavor and vibrant color.

Uncompromising Quality, from Field to Shipping
Behind the freshness of Gosselin Carrots lies rigorous mastery at every stage of the supply chain:
  • Exceptional Tradition (Label Rouge): In Créances, our grower partners maintain the tradition of natural straw preservation, protecting the vegetable's taste profile and crispness over time.
  • Environmental Commitments: Our production complies with responsible farming practices, certified GlobalGAP and aligned with strict agri-environmental standards to safeguard biodiversity and soil health.
  • Maximum Food Safety: Processed and packaged in our IFS-certified facilities, our carrots undergo thorough inspections ensuring end-to-end traceability for domestic and export distribution.

Whether supplied washed or brushed, in bags, trays, or bulk, Gosselin Group carrots represent a healthy, ultra-fresh product with uncompromised quality standards.

Behind the Scenes at Gosselin Group — Chapter 4: Logistics Manager

To conclude our Month of Professions series this June, we are highlighting the driving heart of our operations: the role of Logistics Manager.

As true conductors of our product flow, the Logistics Manager and their team serve as the vital link between our packaging sites and our buying partners. Their daily mission? Ensuring maximum responsiveness and complete control over the cold chain.

Their daily operations revolve around an absolute priority:
  • Ultra-Reactive Dispatch: Rigorous planning and order preparation are synchronized so that our fresh vegetables are shipped on the very same day of harvest or packaging.
  • Temperature-Controlled Transport: Relying on our state-of-the-art fleet of refrigerated trucks, we guarantee optimal temperature maintenance from our Sainte-Geneviève facility to final delivery.

This supply chain agility enables the Gosselin Group to offer our clients (supermarkets, wholesalers, export partners) unmatched freshness while optimizing transport costs.

Behind the Scenes at Gosselin Group — Chapter 3: Sales & Export Manager

For the third chapter of our Month of Professions series, we step away from our packaging facilities to enter the sales office and highlight a driving force behind our growth: the Sales & Export Manager.

As key points of contact for our partners, our sales representatives promote Normandy vegetables far beyond our borders, from domestic distribution across France to European markets and Overseas Territories.

On a daily basis, their mission relies on two core pillars:
  • Multilingual and Tailored Proximity: Thanks to fluency in multiple languages, our sales team precisely understands, anticipates, and answers the unique demands of every market and client (supermarkets, wholesalers, importers).
  • Technical Mastery for Long-Distance Export: Leveraging state-of-the-art preservation processes — such as hydrocooling (rapid chilled water cooling) —, they ensure optimal freshness and extended shelf life, essential for long-distance transport.

True ambassadors of our expertise, our sales team enables Normandy terroir to be enjoyed across Europe and internationally under pristine freshness conditions.

As part of our Month of Professions series, we continue our deep dive into the heart of the Gosselin Group. After discovering the vital work of our packaging operators, today we highlight a strategic role in our value chain: the Quality Inspection & Sourcing Manager.

As the true guardian of product quality, the Inspection Manager represents the first line of our high standards. Their daily responsibilities center around two essential missions:
  • Rigorous Local Sourcing: Carefully selecting the finest vegetables from our local and regional grower partners (GPLM producers' organization, Breton auctions, independent farmers).
  • Uncompromising Quality Control: Upon every arrival at our facility, they inspect freshness, compliance, sizing, and visual appearance. Only products fully adhering to our strict specifications are approved.

Thanks to this expertise and continuous control right from reception, the Gosselin Group ensures a smooth, reactive, and flawless supply chain for both our national shipping and international export departments.

Producer's Tips: How to properly prepare your leeks?

The leek is a traditional vegetable that requires special attention during preparation. Because the quality of our products deserves an optimal tasting experience, the Gosselin Group shares its secrets for perfect cleaning.

The step-by-step method:
  • Strategic cutting: Trim the roots and any damaged tips of the green part. Don't throw all the greens away: they are excellent for flavoring your broths!
  • The opening: Slit the leek stalk in four (in a cross shape) starting from the upper part.
  • Dynamic rinsing: Let cold water run inside the leaves while gently separating them. The soil, naturally present from field cultivation, will easily wash away.

By mastering these simple gestures, you preserve all the tenderness and delicate flavor of this emblematic vegetable of our plains.
